
Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP) have released a new study calling for action to stop below-cost selling, to link alcohol taxation levels to alcohol strength in drinks and to increase the level of taxation on alcohol in order to reduce levels of harm. A particular emphasis is given in the report to the need to address certain alcohol sales practices, be that cheap alcohol sold by supermarkets or irresponsible drinks promotions.
