Event explores European Commission decision to exempt alcohol from EU labelling legislation

The European Parliament in Brussels is the venue for today’s event on the state of alcohol labelling in the European Union (EU). Hosted by Glenis Willmott MEP (Labour, East Midlands), ‘What’s
not on the bottle? State of alcohol labelling in the EU
’ aims to look into the European Commission provision exempting alcoholic beverages from consumer legislation requiring food and drinks companies to label information about their products.

The event also features presentations from Lars Møller (World Health Organisation Europe</a>); Ilaria Passarani (Head of Food and Health, European Consumer Organization (BEUC)</a>); and Philippe Roux (Head of Unit, DG SANCO C4).
