Join IAS and Dr David Whiteley from Glasgow Caledonian University to learn the results of a scoping review that looked at alcohol marketing to the LGBTQ+ community.
The review looked at:
- How do alcohol companies target gender and sexually diverse communities?
- What effect does targeted alcohol marketing have on the drinking practices of gender and sexually diverse communities?
- What are the potential implications of targeted marketing to gender and sexually diverse communities for regulatory codes and policy in the UK?
Dr Whiteley’s review is the first to bring together academic evidence on alcohol marketing to LGBTQ+ people and highlights the need for further exploration.
